Member Spotlight - Jena Hansen

Tell us about yourself.

I’ve never been the best at working out consistently or holding myself accountable in regards to fitness or health. I was pretty active growing up, but I’ve come to find out that ‘adulting’ is hard :) It’s difficult to find time in the day to dedicate to working out, and even more difficult to find a place that you love going to, to work out.

What’s your favorite way to work out and why?

I prefer working out in small group classes, because it’s not overwhelming with too many people, yet it makes me work out harder than I would if I was working out on my own. I thrive off of the energy of being around people, and the support and accountability that others offer – and I just don’t get that working out on my own.

What brought you to A2O Fitness?

I had a couple of coworkers that had gone to A2O and loved it, so I thought I would give it a try (especially since my wedding was coming up in 10 months and I wanted to get my butt into gear). I immediately felt welcomed and at ease. Not only were the trainers incredibly friendly, supportive, and fun, but so were all of the A2O members! Word of mouth brought me to A2O, and it’s the people that have made me want to stay.

In your opinion, what makes A2O unique?

A2O is a completely supportive environment where anyone at any fitness level can come to be successful in their health, strength, goals, and more. The trainers and the members here genuine, encouraging, and fun to be around, and they truly want to see you succeed.

Why should someone consider coming to A2O?

If you’re looking for something different than your typical gym that only cares about increasing their member numbers, but instead focuses on you and your health goals, A2O is a great place to be. The small group classes are challenging, but there are modifications for every level, and it’s always a lot of fun. Sometimes bigger gyms can be incredibly intimidating, sometimes it’s hard to hold yourself accountable to sticking to your workouts and health goals, and sometimes working out just isn’t fun…if any of these apply to you, I highly recommend trying out A2O! Plus, the first class is free, so why not check it out?!

Have you experienced changes in your level of fitness or strength since working with the trainers/coaches at A2O?

I have definitely noticed an increase in my strength and endurance levels since coming to A2O. I am still far from my goals and being as fit as I would like to be, but I’m really happy with how much stronger I’ve become and I’m excited to see even more improvement as I continue my fitness journey here. I was lucky enough to connect with one of the trainers, Megan, who is just one of a kind. I had never met a complete stranger who was more encouraging and kind, and that I instantly connected with. Her classes push me to work as hard as I can, and her personality and friendship makes me want to keep coming back. It’s trainers like this that makes gyms successful, and A2O certainly knows how to pick ‘em! I’m incredibly thankful that I not only found a space where I enjoy coming to work out, but also for the friendships and the endless fun I have when I’m there.
